CORRUPTION ERADICATION ISSUES

Corruption can be seen as disrupting global market integrity and financial stability, and damaging public confidence. Discussion of this issue has resulted in a series of action plans, namely the 2010-2012 Action Plan (agreed at the Seoul Summit in 2010), the 2013-2014 Action Plan (agreed at the Saint Petersburgh Summit in 2013) and the 2015-2016 Action Plan (agreed at the Brisbane Summit in the year 2014). In the current action plan (2015-2016), priorities include increasing legal ownership transparency, combating bribery and preventing corruption in sectors vulnerable to criminal acts of corruption, encouraging transparency and integrity of the public sector increasing international cooperation to increase the effectiveness of investigations, prosecution of corruption and return of assets from corruption, and encourage transparency and integrity of the private sector.
