President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that Indonesia's position in the G-20 countries was measured by economic growth. According to Jokowi, Indonesia is now in the 2nd position among other G20 countries.
The statement was made by Jokowi during a speech at the opening of the Golkar Party National Conference in Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/03/2019).
"Right now in the G20 countries, we are second. Today is second," Jokowi said.
Jokowi said the achievement of economic growth above 5% is now to be thankful for. Because in the midst of world economic turmoil, Indonesia continues to grow.
Conversely there are other countries that have entered the economic recession.
"Now our economic position should be grateful compared to other countries, we should be grateful for above 5%. Other countries have entered the recession, some are heading towards recession," Jokowi said.
In addition, Jokowi also reminded that all levels of society can maintain stability, especially politics, because stable conditions can smooth investment into Indonesia.
"If our political stability is rocking, it is very dangerous because it involves trust. There will be no investment if it is not stable," said the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
