Joint Meeting Task Force (JMTF) is an initiative of the PRC Presidency, which views that information technology plays an important role in the new industrial revolution, where the revolution will bring fundamental changes to promote economic growth. Trend digital economy which has an impact on the global economy also motivates the formation of a JMTF consisting of Innovation Task Force, New Industrial Revolution Task Force, and Digital Economy Task Force.
The Innovation Task Force, there are several priority agenda such as the importance of inclusiveness and open-access on sources of innovation, the synergy between innovation, the new industrial revolution, and the digital economy, and the effect of innovation growth on job creation. While on New Industrial Revolution Task Force, The PRC Presidency underscores the effect of the industrial revolution on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and cooperation in the field of research. Digital Economy Task Force (DETF) sSpecifically raised the importance of cooperation and coordination of national policies to face the challenges of the digital economy. The rapid growth of the digital economy can also be an opportunity for job expansion and progress digital inclusion.
Since 2017, the G20 has formed Digital Economy Task Force (DETF).
Indonesia's focal points at this year's DETF are the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti), the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Communication and Information.
